Ayatollah Khamenei’s Political Philosophy

“Ayatollah Khamenei’s Political Philosophy” is a coherent set of his intellectual and philosophical reflections, which has explained his political philosophy with the mixed method of political questioning and content analysis of his written and spoken works. What justifies and necessity of this research, in addition to lack of such a comprehensive research with a political philosophy approach up to now, is the necessity to explain the views of the supreme leader, which gives his thought authority and credibility, as a political charter and constitution in the society. The purpose of this research is to explain the coherent and multi-dimensional thought system that can present Ayatollah Khamenei’s political thought in scientific gatherings. Since the main pillars of political philosophy lie in explaining its foundations, principles, problems and goals, the research provides five basic chapters under the title of “systematic rules”. First, the principles of political philosophy under the headings of basic concepts and theoretical framework and then, and theoretical foundations as the presuppositions of thought have been stated. Based on that, the community rules, which is the first phase of the approach of political philosophy, has been presented. Then, by reflecting on the basic elements of society (individual and society), religion and politics, law, justice and security in the society, the foundations of political life have been explained. Furthermore, the citizenship rules, as the most important concern and issue in the political philosophy of the Supreme Leader which is prior to governance rules is discussed in details under the concepts such as citizenship rights, dignity, freedom and participation. Regarding that, the rules of governance (in it’s general sense) within scope of the political system, political order, political legitimacy, and religious democracy. Finally, the ultimate objective of political philosophy in Ayatollah Khamenei’s view, with the title of the “the rule of felicity” in the form of the most important concepts in political philosophy, i.e. perfection, felicity, virtue, goodly life, goodness is presented.  This book seems to own a special innovation in its kind.
