Ayatollah Ali Akbar Rashad was born in Tehran in 1335 (coinciding with the month of Ramadan, 1377 AH). He studied Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic philosophy under the supervision of prominent professors of the Tehran and Qom constituencies and has been engaged in researching and teaching philosophy, logic of religion, jurisprudence and principles. He was the founder and chairman of the “Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought” and was the founder and director of Imam Reza (AS) Seminary, and in his political career and executive responsibilities, membership in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the head of the seminary of Imam Reza (AS) , A faculty member at the Religious Dialogue Center and the Presidency of the Friendship Association of Iran and Greece.
