There is much to say regarding the reasons behind the increase in the heinous crimes and brutal massacres committed by the United States and the Zionist regime in the region, as well as the assassination of resistance commanders, especially the esteemed martyr, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah. However, two key points are of particular importance in this context:
- Some, in a superficial analysis, attribute recent events to the staunch resistance of the resistance front led by Iran against the United States. However, one of the outcomes of resistance, even when examined through the rational lens of “profit and loss,” reveals that the benefits of resistance far outweigh those of compromise and abandoning resistance. From the perspective of the Holy Qur’an, even if resistance leads to martyrdom in the path of God, it remains in favor of the resistance movement.
God grants a great reward in return for this, namely eternal happiness and entry into the paradise of divine satisfaction (Muhammad: 4-6). Conversely, the Qur’an makes it clear that abandoning resistance and compromising with the enemy imposes heavy losses and costs on Muslims. After warning Muslims against befriending and compromising with the enemies of Islam, saying “O you who believe! Do not take My enemies and your enemies as friends” يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ (Al-Mumtahanah: 1), God declares that the outcome of such compromise is betrayal and even heavier losses:
“If they gain ascendancy over you, they will be your enemies and stretch out their hands and tongues against you with evil intent, and they desire that you should disbelieve” إِنْ یَثْقَفُوکُمْ یَکُونُوا لَکُمْ أَعْداءً وَ یَبْسُطُوا إِلَیْکُمْ أَیْدِیَهُمْ وَ أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوءِ وَ وَدُّوا لَوْ تَکْفُرُونَ (Al-Mumtahanah: 2). Thus, Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the necessity of resistance by the Islamic Republic against global arrogance, led by the United States, emphasizes that no one should doubt this necessity or imagine that compromising with the United States can reduce the political system’s problems. In fact, nations that have succumbed to America’s excessive demands have suffered even greater losses (Ayatollah Khamenei, 11/3/2020). He further stresses the rationality and greater achievements of resistance compared to compromise and surrender, stating:
“Some advocate for a different approach, suggesting that we should surrender so that the enemy does not act treacherously towards us; these people do not realize that the cost of surrender is far greater than the cost of resistance. Yes, standing firm may have a price, but the gains it brings are immense, worth hundreds of times the cost to nations.
However, surrendering to a hostile, stubborn, and malicious enemy results in nothing but humiliation, degradation, and loss of identity. This is the unchanging law of God… Almighty God will not shortchange you in return for the effort you have made; He will fully reward your struggle” (Ayatollah Khamenei, 6/30/2018).
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s resistance in maintaining and developing its nuclear, missile, and defense industries, among others, is a clear testament to this principle. Numerous experiences have shown that surrendering to Western pressure, led by the United States, to abandon its nuclear industry or missile capabilities not only did not lead to the lifting of sanctions and elimination of threats but also extended the shadow of war over Iran, as it did over Iraq, Libya, and others, severely increasing the costs. The Leader of the Revolution, referring to historical evidence, stated that the cost of surrender is higher than the cost of resistance: “Resistance has costs, of course, but the cost of surrender to the enemy is greater than the cost of resistance.
When you surrender to the enemy, you must pay a price. The Pahlavi regime had surrendered to the United States, giving oil, money, and bribes while also enduring humiliation! Today, the Saudi government is doing the same; they give money, dollars, and take positions based on America’s will, yet they are insulted; they are called ‘milking cows’! The cost of compromise, surrender, and abandoning resistance is far greater than the cost of resistance, both materially and spiritually” (Ayatollah Khamenei, 6/4/2019).
- The recent crimes of the United States and its rabid dog, the Zionist regime, in assassinating senior resistance commanders and massacring civilians, while demonstrating their desperation and failure, have also been fueled by certain officials’ repeated statements that “we are not seeking to expand the war” and even some calls for compromise and reconciliation with the United States. The reality is that Israel is a cancerous tumor that grows more dangerous each day, and if left unchecked, it will spread across the entire Islamic world.
Forty-five years ago, the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, said that Israel is not an entity that should be given time, and if given time, its threat will extend further into the Islamic world. Now, the Islamic world and the resistance movement must clarify their stance towards the Zionist regime. Today, we are engaged in a battle of right against wrong, and there is no avoiding it. For lasting peace in the region, Islamic countries, particularly the resistance front, must be prepared for such a war. The hesitation of Islamic governments and some officials regarding the intensification of conflict has emboldened the United States and the Zionist regime, resulting in the continuous and growing increase of their crimes.
Israel feels emboldened because it perceives that Islamic countries are not seeking to intensify the conflict, and thus it continues its crimes more freely. This situation must not be allowed to continue, and it must be clearly stated that we are ready for the expansion of conflict and a full-scale war with the United States and the Zionist occupying regime. By God’s grace, the power of the resistance is vast, and today the hearts of billions of free people across the world, both Muslim and non-Muslim, are aligned with the resistance front. Today, the magnitude of the Zionist regime’s crimes is clear to the people of the world, and we are witnessing a global human awakening. Therefore, we must seize this opportunity and, with full readiness, confront the Zionist regime and global arrogance, led by the United States. It is precisely this readiness for a large-scale war that can force the enemy to retreat, as they are in no way prepared to engage in a full-scale war.
