Joint Meeting of the Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought and the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology

According to the Public Relations office of the Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought, a joint meeting between the Research Institute and the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology of the Presidency was held with the aim of continuing scientific interactions between the Institute and the Vice Presidency in the fourteenth government.

According to the report, at the beginning of the meeting, Ayatollah Ali Akbar Rashad, the President and Founder of the Research Institute (IICT), while praising the valuable services of the fourteenth government in advancing the scientific and technological goals of the country as envisioned by the Supreme Leader, described the essence of civilization as the way of life and considered the humanities to be the primary influential factor and foundation of this way of life.

He expressed concern about the slow pace of the Islamization of the humanities, stating, “Influential institutions have been established, and significant actions have been taken in this area, but we still cannot claim to have established and implemented any of these sciences.”

Ayatollah Rashad emphasized, “It is possible that some of these institutions have produced knowledge, but it is not yet widespread or in practice.”

Dr. Afshin, also speaking at the meeting, commended the previous efforts between the Research Institute and the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology. He noted that the production of knowledge and science should be independent of political inclinations, stating, “Our duty in the government is to facilitate the process of knowledge production in the country.”

Dr. Afshin also identified the lack of proper identification and formulation of issues as the primary problem in the country, adding, “We face difficulties in identifying and addressing issues, and we observe that when problems are well understood, we encounter fewer obstacles in solving them.”
